Hula-Hoop Fun

After three weeks of learning about Adobe Premiere Pro and editing this video, on my spare time, its Finally Done! Yay!

I still have a lot to learn, so you may want to turn the volume down a bit….

I couldn’t figure out how to lower the sound in the video 😦 . I’ll switch this one out for an edited one when I do. I hope you’ll still enjoy! ❤

If you liked this video then you may enjoy my first Hula hoop video (edited in Windows Movie Maker). See you again soon!

Simple Beauty Day 12

Today I went to a free event and kayaked up a river. Afterwards I stopped to take a few pictures of downtown Battle Creek. One of the pictures turned our really grainy on my phone so I added it to my PICSART app and made it look more like a painting. Such a wonderful day… really ❤.

Nature Art and Odin

This week I kind of went back to what I did in “Shaping an Idea” and worked on my anime girl leaves and other work.

You’ve may have seen a few of the top ones but the middle ones and bottom two are new. I’m not sure if I like the digital ones, I think I’d like to make them all out of nature items… but maybe if I work on them with other elements it will blend better.

Odin’s introduction

I want to thank my walking buddy, Odin, for putting up with me as I pick up pieces for my work. I don’t think I’ve introduced him other than putting him in a few posts… My boyfriend and I got Odin from a local shelter a few days before Christmas. I had my eye on him for a month and when the shelter said everything turned out good for us we, took the chance to get him :). Here’s him being cute~ ❤

I’ll continue to show the nature work every Thursday and pick up Saturdays again. This Saturday’s post I’ll be highlighting pictures of an art show I went to tonight. See you then!

Exciting News and Something New

So today I went to the Art Center in my hometown (Battle Creek MI.) to see if my art could be in one of their upcoming fundraisers. I thought my heart art would fit in perfectly for their event ,”Heart of Art,” and just to see what their response would be, I brought along some of my other art as well .

I had no idea what to expect, but their reaction towards all of my art was better than I ever could have imagined! Not only do they want my art in the Fundraiser but they would like it in their gift shop as well!

When I drove home and settled down a bit, the confidence that was welling up from what they told me inspired me to finish this piece below.

I’ve been playing around with this one for a few weeks and today I think I completed it! The story of how this piece was started and finished was pretty funny to me. I actually found the frame for this piece first, then built the gal second. When I put just the head in the frame today it felt incomplete. It needed something… something behind it. I looked around and thought “Ohh this cottonwood leaf would be perfect! That and its the same type of leaf her face was made from! Ohhh and it even looks like a heart behind her!!”…. lol, yeah I get really excited when things fall into place 😉 ❤ .

I haven’t been doing this type of nature art for very long but I really enjoy it and like where it’s taking me. I’ve been trying to come up with a name for it but have been having a hard time figuring out if it’s a type a sculpture, craft, or something completely different. All I do know is that when I showed just the head to a few women at the Art Center today, they seemed to like it quite a bit. When they said “you should keep doing what you’re doing, this is something new and refreshing” I thought my heart could have exploded from all the encouragement. ❤ So I think I’ll follow their advice and keep it up ^_^ .

See ya this Saturday for the next new post!

Keeping Busy

This past week I’ve been having fun drawing and editing.

After posting all my new creations to Facebook, I decided to check my email…

I received a notification from the people that organize the Spring and Fall art walks, and now I am nervous!

Which art form should I show, should I do them all, how will I look to the public eye, do I have the money!?

(insert last week’s reminder),

Yeah I think I’ve got this, lol.

One thing I am having trouble deciding though, is should I show all my art forms/ the nature art/ or Springiest photos(flowers). What do you think? Here are a few examples of each:

The good thing is that I have 2 months to prepare and this time I will use it. I’ve already got some stuff from the previous Fall into the Arts, so now prints have to be made for the framed ones and a different display needs to be thought up. Oh and if you want to check out and vote on more of my art, head to my Facebook Album. Wish me luck and thank you for your votes!

Lots of Editing

My drawing altered with different filters.

It sure has been awhile! Starting today I’ll be posting on Thursdays once again, yay! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. Though I have been away from the blog, I did a few things over my break so I thought I’d share them today. ~

My drawing altered in Picsart.

Portraits

I’ve always been drawn to nature but I don’t often take pictures of people. A few family members saw some of my photography during my break and they offered me a job, to take senior pictures for my cousin. We had fun and I learned a lot about how to take good portraits.

I ran into a few problems during this experience though. One problem I was having was that the coloring kept turning out too red/orange. I found out it was because of the many shades of red in the frame. Editing the red tinted ones was an interesting endeavor, but we all thought it looked a lot better after the edits.

Another problem came up when I was going through the pictures. A few of them had extra background noise that took away from my cousin. So I had to play around on my free Photoshop program, GIMP. Along with taking out the green chair, I also edited the reflection in the windows, Darkened the background and redrew the street. I honestly had a lot of fun with this and look forward to trying out more portraits in the future. I think my favorite part was learning more about my cousins. I also enjoyed the research process of finding new ways to approach my subjects, whether it is a person or thing in nature.

More Editing

I had a point during the break where I was feeling stifled and insecure with my drawings so I edited a few free drawings by other artists. Most of them were done on the PicsArt app on my phone. The original owner of the drawing on the left is from a Picsart’s artist “@eoaneh.

The #freetoedit pic on Picsart is the left. My rendition of it is to the right.

I follow an artist on Baylee Jae’s Youtube channel every once in awhile and finally visited her website, http://www.bayleejae.com/. I browsed around her FREE Coloring Pages and got the pic above. My version is to the left.

Updating My Own

When I was finished editing the previous pictures I created the top two pictures in this post. Sometimes our creativity comes back after playing around with something different. Lastly, I felt like this picture was missing something so I decided to give it a new background today.

I’m still not sure if I like it but I’ll sit with it for a bit ;).

Okay that’s enough for this week. More to come soon, see you next Thursday!

Digital Mystical Trees

I’ve been kind of a shut-in the last few weeks so I’ve been recreating the feeling trees make me feel. Let me know what you think. Would you like to see more digital works?
